Yup, I don't even own a tripod. Wish I did - I'd love to do long-exposure shots of the fireworks! Fantasmic I've done a couple of different ways - manual and shutter priority. I was really lazy, so I put it on shutter priority (1/200th sec) and just shot it at that. The parade I think I did the same.

PS--My husband is a sports photographer and currently shoots with a Canon EOS 20D, but wants to upgrade to a 1D Mark 2 as soon as he can. He has always used Canon equipment =)
I love the Canon equipment! My previous cameras have been Canons, and I've been thrilled with them. They've got a loyal customer here!
