I stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel Across from the Park when I was at Disneyland for the 50th Anniversery on the 17th-20th. It was a nice hotel fairly cheap compared to the other hotels. Very close to the park. I would recommend it. If you get a Disney Theme Park View you can watch the Fireworks that are launched during Remember Dreams Come True. It is really cool just a little loud. KABOOOM LOL

The night when I watched the fireworks show from our balconey, the booming was so loud that some of the car's alarms went off in the nearby parking lot.
