Jim writes some rather odd captions to his photos in the updates. I believe what he was trying to get across was a joke along the lines of "Well, since it didn't actually burn down as the projections during the fireworks show, the next best thing happened: it closed!" He's just showing the ride closed during the day, only to reopen later. It's best to heed the warning they put on their home page - take nothing they say seriously.
