A Different View Of Monsters Inc
Now All I have heard about the new Monsters Inc ride is good things, which is good, because I have been dreading an even worse attraction than Superstar Limo, but really, is that ride really what California Adventure Needs. Now, Granted, i haven't ridden it, so I can't be too impressed, but really, isn't it just a dark ride....DCA is not a dark ride type park, it's a park that takes on more thrilling attractions, and this ride does not inforce it.
Now, I know the building from superstar was left over, and I'm not going to rant about some huge project(such as expanding the Millionare building through it for something like Rockn Rollercoaster)but maybe a different replacement could work out better. From what I have seen of the ride, it looks VERY expensive, not including all that major construction done throughout the area. Wouldn't the Movie Ride at WDW be abetter replacement for example, I'm not saying it should have been, but really, it would have fit PERFECTLY in the area, for those people who actually think about theming, Monsters Inco really doesn't fit in the hollywood Pictures Backlot. Now of course EVERY DISNEY THEME PARK MUST HAVE A DARK RIDE, and this is a very good one, but it won't impress people who won't ride it. The ride will not bring people in. The only reasons I really come to DCA now is Screamin' and TOT. I like DCA a lot, and i belive it has very good and fun attractions, but those are the only reason I have to go there. I'm very impressed with the decision that the disneyland made in created an original ride that no other park has, but just like Soar'in, if this a sucess, WDW will have it next year. Also, aren't some of you chatters the ones that complain about Pixar's roles in the parks. I don't know, you all seem very optimistic, but I would be scared. I do believe this will last much longer than Limo Ride, but in reality, no one will come to DCA or the DLR or California for this ride. This ride is not advertisable, no one is gonna see this on an ad and say oh that's AMAZING. When Rocket Rods failed, I was Fired, so I tend to get very personal about these issues, but really, this ride is not a showstopper and it,in my opinion, is not a valid attempt to save this park(DCA).
Bottomline: DCA will die if more thrill rides, or rides that sparks peoples interest , are not built, Dark Rides, Cheap Rides like Mullholland, and mediocre films(Goden Dreams) are not going to save the park. Monsters Inc. is expensive and is just another example of why DCA is not as sucessful as it could be. [Is this all the progress we could make in 5 years?
