Lol. How 'bout some pros and cons?!
Before I begin my list of pros and cons, I must state my solid opinion. I have personally seen both versions, and after a nice long read in this thread, and some thinking, I think that both versions are great, but I think that Disneyland's versions is a bit more superior to the DHS version. Now I still think that the DHS version is still nice to see and I am very proud to as a WDW'er to have it, but when we have discussions like this and begin to think deeply into the subject, then it's when you see that one versions truly
is better than the other.
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Pros
- Better Stage Setup (the mountain backdrop simply makes a better Sorcerer Mickey appearance. I would rather see Sorcerer Mickey appear from the top of a mountain than from a shed.)
- The extra villains are a bit of a better addition I guess...
- I really can't find anything else... Umm... Wow... I literally spent a half an hour thinking of what else to put...
Cons
- The lighting compared to Disneyland's is pity but really the difference is that they make more use of the hydraulic lighting towers other than that the lights don't make that much of a difference.
- The fountains are not as great as Disneyland's, If you look at the new Summer Nightastic Fantasmic! you will notice the fountains are a bit better. It's hard to explain just see it. Lol
- The water projections are worse than in DL's. In DHS the projections don't really fill the entire water screen nor are they HD, although you can still see the projection the image is a bit clearer in DL's version.
- The pyro isn't as good as the competitor's to simply put it. In the finale of DHS's Fantasmic the fireworks are ALL OVER THE PLACE so much you can barely even see Mickey Mouse. Not only that but there are some elements in DL's pyro that make DHS's not as great a show.
- The Lion King scene I found a bit inferior to the Jungle Book scene from DL, same with the random characters in bubbles scene which I found quite a time-waster to say the least. Speaking of scenes I found the random canoes pointless and the Pocahontas scene I do not like but I dislike the Peter Pan sequence also so that's really no difference for me.
- Worse finale.
Well as you can see I think DL's version of Fantasmic! Is better. As kirsten said I still get goosebumps in both, I still get that exciting feeling when Mickey Mouse appears centerstage in the beginning, I still love the both shows but when we talk so deeply into the we notice all the negative things. So there you are. :)
