You could alway have like pullies and rope and have a ghost hang on one end and have him hide behind the tombstone untill the time is right and then pull on the cord and have him pop up. Have a black light so that his face glows so he is scary when he pops up. Muwhahah. Fog is also a cool thing to have to keep the enviroment scary.
