Records fall in third Disneyland Half Marathon
13,500 runners participate in 13.1-mile race this morning through Disneyland, Anaheim landmarks

Runners raced through Disneyland and other Anaheim landmarks during the third annual Disneyland Half Marathon in record time today, breaking course records in Men's Women's and Master's divisions.
John Lucas, a marketing specialist for a sports apparel company in Eugene, Ore. crossed the finish line of the third annual Disneyland Half Marathon ahead of the field 13,500 runners with a record time, knocking two full minutes off last year's winning time.
Despite having to start at the back of the pack after losing her race chip, Mary Akor, 31, of Gardena turned in a record-setting performance in the Women's Division, finishing in 1:19:24.
Kevin Broady, 45, of Brea, who won 2007 Disneyland Half Marathon, won the Master's Division (age 40+) with a record time of 1:13.26. Edith Martinez, 40, of Brea was the top women's Master's finisher with a division record time of 1:28:29.
Ralph Pieplenbos, 55, of Monrovia won the men's Half Marathon wheelchair division. Kristen Messer, 21, of Austin, Texas won the women's Half Marathon wheelchair division.
