* The Killing Joke is the comic that deals with the origin story of Joker. According to his backstory, he was an engineer at a chemical company who aspired to become a stand up comedian. After a run in with gangsters, he fell into a vat of toxic waste giving him a permanent hideous grin, white face and green hair.

Expanding on this the Killing Joke is one of the best Batman Comics ever written. The joker loses his wife and Child due to a fire and it shows that his madness is caused by one bad event. He tries to drive Gordon insane using this same line of thought. If you don't own this book go out and get it they recently re-released it.

I think one of the reasons the Nolan Batman works so well is that they took the Batman from the comics and managed to bring him into the real world. as much as I love the Tim Burton Batman he very much exist in a Tim Burton world. But the Nolan batman is intense and driven and very much based in a world where you can believe a man dressed like a bat can and does exist.

What makes me most excited for the new movie is seeing that shot of Gordon, Dent and Bats up on the GCPD roof. When I saw that the line from the long Halloween came to mind. "I'll let you bend the rules, but we cannot break them. otherwise, how are we diffrent from him."
This movie is going to be good.
