I know it seems like nothing is going right in America right now, especially with the war, so it is hard to become optimisitc in a time where global warming and a quagmire war dominate the news. However, you have to look at the 1950's and 1960's. Walt Disney didn't just create Disneyland as a place for children and adults to see 2d stories transcend into a tangible environment, Walt wanted to create an escapist environment for people who had bad childhoods that spanned two world wards, the great depression , the holocaust, and the Korean conflict. America has never been perfect, but Walt saw an opportunity in providing an escapist solace for the growing American family. Do not underestimate the effect that Disneyland has had on the past half century American social history.

If anything, Disney's influence in the world has vastly grown since the 1950's, which is a good thing if Imagineers are looking to provide actual predictions or demonstrations of future material. Disney is perfectly capable of providing an actual tomorrowland that isn't meant to be merely charming or whimsical. However, had Disney been committed to providing a World Fair's type look into the future technologies that society will offer, these intentions would have been evident at EPCOT. Unfortunately, today EPCOT lacks the purpose it originally sought to have. Because EPCOT does not fulfill its purpose of providing what all of you are asking for, it is sadly unlikely that Tomorrowland will seek a greater purpose in years to come. Despite my great faith in the capabilities of Imagineers, it is ultimately Corporate Disney that decides the parks' directions, and as of now, Disney is an entertainment company, not one that is trying to change the world.

I hope I explained this well!
