Actually DCA is part of DLR...Disneyland Resort is the conglomeration of hotels and both parks.
Anyway, I don't think DCA has the Disney magic other than the electrical parade, but it's a fun place nonetheless. And I saw a message that stated it's for a different crowd, and I agree with that, I think because of rides like TOT and CA screamin and the Whoa Belly ride (I forgot the name) attracts more of the adrenaline types. I wonder though if there is anyone who likes DCA but not Disneyland Park
I also like DCA indirectly because I think it reduces the crowds. Disneyland Park would be horribly crowded without DCA because everyone would be concentrated in the same point. For example I went on Super Bowl Sunday 2001 and you wouldn't believe how packed it was. It rivaled the crowd on July 17, 2005! A minimum 2 hour wait for anything, it was crazy. I'm sure if I were to go on another Super Bowl Sunday it would be nowhere near as crowded because everyone would be distributed between the two parks.
