"Splash" was Touchstone's first film (and featured nudity and profanity). Later in 1986, "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" (the first R-rated film from Touchstone) was followed up with "Ruthless People". None of these films I would really consider family fare.
Touchstone was created over concerns with the more mature films Disney started making in the 80's, including Condorman, Trenchcoat, Never Cry Wolf, the Black Hole.
I'm not sure where you get the "Family Friendly" films since they have (and always have been) a very small portion of the films produced by Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures.
