The saddest part is they would make far more money by not worrying about how to obviously be squeezing every last dollar out of each guest.
What do you think the businesses of old did? Did they just not make money? Heck no! They made oodles and oodles of it, proportionally WAY more than is being made now. How? By focusing on the quality of the product and the ingenuity and creativity of their storytelling. Walt knew that if the product was good enough, regardless of how much it cost (remember he mortgaged his family to build Disneyland), the money would take care of itself. While Roy wondered how they were gonna pay for it, Walt knew that wasn't the main priority. What happened to that?
