Lightbulb Imagineer Competition Semi-Finale Project

Hello and welcome to the Semi-Finale Project of the ?So, you want to be an Imagineer?? Competition here on the wonderful site of Visions Fantastic! This type of project should be looked at as an aid for the final project because the amount of points you earn from this project will be added on to your score from the final project.
Before we get underway, we wish the remaining contestants good luck as we ask that daring question?

?So, you want to be an Imagineer??

Your mission for the Semi-Finale Project:
This project will require a great amount of your imagination because we are asking for you to not only improve certain areas of the park but as well as to create new concepts and designs. Take a deep breathe because this project is actually composed of two different, yet similar, projects.

Project A:
Your goal for Project A is to create a new theme and atmosphere for any land at any Disney Theme Park Worldwide! That?s right?you can to choose a land that you wish the refurbish. You must refurbish a current land, you cannot create a brand new land. Though, you are welcome to give the land a new name, but the general/original concept of the land must stay in tact. For example, you cannot decide to change Tomorrowland?s theme to a town from the 1700?s.
Here are your requirements for Project A:

*A New Logo for the land
*A New Slogan for the land (Example: WDW?s Tomorrowland: ?The world of tomorrow that never was?is finally here)
*At least one new dining facility?cannot replace a current restaurant
*At least one new attraction?no higher than a D-ticket (no E-tickets!)
*All new entertainment venue
*Refurbishment of at least one current dining facility
- anything that would improve the facility?new name, new layout, new menu?etc.
*Refurbishment of at least one current attraction
-title must remain similar to current name, new effects, new type of vehicle?etc.
*An all-new interactive idea?whether is includes televisions, buttons, controls?it must fit into the land?s new theme. You have been asked to incorporate more fun interactive activities for the park guests
*Overhead map including new additions to the land (not required for HKDL park)

*Please keep in mind?these are only the requirements! There is so much more you can do to refurbish any land of your choice. Don?t rule anything out. Most importantly, keep your mind open and don?t forget about the details that would be and wont be seen?

Grading Scale:
Location 10/10 (if the new additions fit)
Theming: 30/30
Creativity: 30/30
New Dining Facility: 15/15
New Attraction: 20/20
New Entertainment Venue: 10/10
New Interactive Area: 10/10
New Logo/Slogan: 10/10
Refurbishment of Dining Facility: 15/15
Refurbishment of Attraction: 15/15
Detail in Presentation: 10/10

Total: 190/190

?.look at all those points! It?s almost 200!

Project B:
Your goal for Project B is not quite as big as that of Project A. But, it is still a mini-project that should get your full attention as well as the full resource of your imagination.
Project B requires you to renovate any form of transportation at the Walt Disney World Resort. You can choose to re-develop anything from the Friendship boats to the Walt Disney World Monorail Line.
*This project is not required?all points gained from Project B will be ?extra credit?.

Grading Scale:
Description of refurbishment: 15/15
Description of how it improves the method of transportation: 5/5
Description of new on-board speech: 5/5
Concept Art: 5/5

Total: 30/30

It?s a pretty simple project, but remember to think of the details and to always keep the guest in mind?how does in benefit them?

DUE DATE: Friday, August 31, 2007

Since you have 20 days to complete the project?we are expecting detail and more detail!
Why is the due date so far away?
Because this is the time of year when everybody is going back to school or starting that new chapter in their lives. Since we encourage everybody to continue on with their lives, as well as the competition, we are giving everybody enough time to complete this project. Plan it out if you need to. Start with a brainstorm?then continue from there. Don?t be afraid to push the limit!

***Please post your project on the due date in this thread. If you are looking to turn in the project before the due date, please pm it to DisneyParksFan. If it is posted before the due date, it will be deleted and it will be your responsibility to turn it in again on the due date***

If the project is turned in late by?
1 Day??.-5 points
2 Days?..-10 points
3 Days?..-15 points
4 Days?..-100 points

If you have any questions?please feel free to ask via a post on this site or pm.
